After countless mistakes, re-dues and a bunch of simplifying I managed to get my tank running. At one point I started making more land features in hopes of putting dart frogs in it but it's purpose was to house my turtle and more land = less water so I didn't want to short change the little guy like that especially since it ended up taking two months to finish and his temp home was a walmart storage bin. I still might put some tree frogs in there once I get it planted a little more. I want to put mossy frogs in but Im worried that he might nip at them cause from what I've read they like to hang out in shallow water? I might just stick to reed frogs, monkey frogs or glass frogs if I can find some. Any Suggestions Im open to any kinds of herps?

I also have construction build pictures I can put up if anyones interested but like I said at the top I made lots of mistakes along the way so it probably wouldn't be much help

Wow. that tank is sick man NICE job. i dont know a darn thing about frogs haha, But if there are a type of frog that is Super active and Hop around non stop i think that would make the tank Perfect. Could u picture sittin there lookin at the tank and Frogs just jumpin around everywhere that would be cool.

The orchids are beautiful. Did you get them to bloom in your tank?

thanks not really it only had one cluster in bloom when I put it in and the second one bloomed in there. Right now Lowes has these miniature orchids that are only 10 bucks I actually bought 3 of them but haven't put them in the tank yet

very nice set up, I don't think that you will have a problem with the mata nipping at the mossy tree frogs because they can't really bite, I would be a little concerned about him eating it whole though. it is a judgment call for you based on how your turtle acts. what about some pipa pipa frogs? I always thought it would be cool to house a small mata with one of those because of how similar they are and if you got a big one, the turtle won't bother it any...

what did you use to make the background from? looks like cork, driftwood, and some sort of cement?

yea a pipa pipa was what I was thinking about at work this morning and my local pet store get big ones cheep. I also thought I might be able to put some big branches in there and maybe get a tree boa but I'm not sure if thats pushing it. I had one about 6 years ago and I remeber it being messy.

the backround is cork bark driftwood and some slate I chipped of a local stream bead. I glued it to a plexie glass berrier that hideds the plumbing with black expansion foam and then were the expansion foam showed threw I bought greyish sand, caked on some silicon and jamed it in there while it was still wet. it stands out a little but the foam is shinny and with the lighting it would have looked terrible if it was exposed.
