Got him at the local pet store, he's currently in a 10 gallon tank but DO NOT keep these guys in a tank this small for more than a week (he's only in there for QT) He gets a 600-700 gallon pond in the future.

Mine ate 1 of my juvie firemouth.i was suppose to let it recover from the beating of the fm's but ended up lunch.he was 3inches.didn't expect it,i thought it was too aware or too fast for the rtc.oops!lol!
No he wouldn't last in the 40 and couldn't live more than a few months in the 130....I'm assuming u didnt mean 1130gal. I bought mine at 2" now a lil over 2months later he's 10" and will more than double his size in the next 6 months without a problem. Take that into consideration. Also feeding rtc is like buying a 40gal every month. Lol
mine really isnt that much of a gluton
he will eat but way after the lights are off and very slowly. he used to be a pig but now he is picky and seems to not have as good of an appatite.
all my other fish eat like pigs and are perfectly fine so idk. i figure he will start eating again
i thought it was the temps but the water is at 84 right now and everythin is zero
oh well at least he is eating a little maybe i can keep him a little longer
hey dragon song.. awesome mate.. i just got one myself.. almost the same size.. he is with my baby oscars too.. just putting a link of him feeding before i picked him up from the lfs.. cheers mate..
