I smoked on and off for 35 years just quit two weeks ago. I'am doing the e-cigarettes thing. Still miss a nice Marlboro Red though. LOL

My new years resolution was to quit, and so far, I havent smoked since new years. Only after 2.5 years though, but still. Congrats.

Man I have been trying to kick it for some time, been smoking for 18 years,i have tried the patch, pills, more pills, electric therapy, and cold turkey, the sad thing is I am addicted,i sometimes wish I could be locked away for a month with no choice in the matter lol

Have you tried that new water cigarette that replaces the smoke with steam ? This is as retarded as putting a patch on your arm. The only way to quit something is cold turkey, there is no device that can make you quit. Smoking is nothing more than a habit that turns into an addiction. Break the habit by forming new habits. First ask yourself a question, why do you smoke, then you realize how silly it was in the first place. A kid learns to smoke because they think it's cool and the rest takes care of itself.

Ive been smoke free for almost 3 years. pack a day for 15 years. Than my friends started quitting reading a book. I read the book and it made quitting alot easier. Its called allen carrs easy way to quit smoking, or something along the lines.\

Congrats on making the smartest choice u can

I've quit smoking cold turkey since february. Nat Sherman Havana Oval cigarettes (if you smoke you should try these) was my daily routine with a 2 quad espresso from starbucks. I seriously do not know how I did it and I was that guy that everyone thought would be the guy on his death bed smoking a cigarette. So that non-smokers can understand how strong the addiction of nicotine is....

I would rather have had a cigarette then a blow job from angelina jolie...

Good luck to those who are quitting are trying to quit, just remember you will quit eventually.

Grats man! Guess all the money spent on those packs would be going into the aquarium-related funds

I smoke a lot, I even had a cancer scare and still smoked like a chimney. Eventually I have to quit as well. I got a good tip from a friend that cigars are very good to help you quit, about as non addictive as something you smoke can be and it tricks your mind.. because you are still smoking :)

Then again, I have an addictive personality. I started drinking regularly not long ago, and I went from just beers to 151 rum (Caribou Lou is my favorite drink) and whiskey. So your not the only one!

Good luck! It's hard but has to be done.

Stop blaming the nicotine for your addiction. It wasn't the nicotine, it was YOU. That's why it's important to understand why you started and why you continue to use. Get to the root of the matter, then you can stop cold turkey. If you don't do this, you'll always go back to the addiction. Contrary to popular quackscience smoking is not really bad for you unless it becomes an addiction. Humans have been smoking for thousands of years. Do everything in moderation and only smoke the good stuff and you'll be ok. People blame cancer on cigarettes and second hand smoke, ridiculous. People cause cancer by the lifestyle they lead or it's the food that makes them fat lol no it was your choices that made you fat. I just want to slap somebody, that's my addiction ha ha
