I'm Over Here Now
so i got my leo ray from trev december 10th of last year so i'v had him just shy of a year. he's a solo ray so there's no teacher ray to help with food compitation and he would ONLY eat earth worms. well after numerous failed attempts to get him on pellets i finally won the battle lastnight. he ate about a dozen massivore pellets, then first thing this morning he ate about another 10-12 pellets. i don't know why, but it totally feels like a huge accomplishment. :headbang2

i do have one question to ask though... if he's finally eating pellets how long do i feed them before i offer other foods to keep his diet varied? any input from you guys would be appreciated. thanks

man i had so many failed attempts i almost gave up. congrats on winning that good lookin ray from trev :)

Thanks, I think I might get lucky because right before I vacuum I throw half a massivore pellet in there and he does like to chew on it but he does spit it out eventually. I like that because he is already getting used to the flavor.
Anyway, sorry for the mini hijack and once again congrats.

Grats on on being able to get him on pellets..
mind if i ask if the pellets sink up your house?
they do mine..if they sit in the tank longer then 5 or 10 minutes they really let out a stink.

yes if i don't find all the uneaten pieces (wich sometimes can be difficult cuz i have natural colored substrate) my entire house smells like a carcus. halfway through this bag of massivore i'm planning on sneaking in the large NLS pellets. i'v heard a lot of ppl say that they stink up their house. but there's the die hards that won't feed nothing but massivore.

I would continue feeding massivore for a couple of weeks to make sure they are content with a pellet-only diet. Once you are convinced that they are eating well on pellets I would start throwing in "treats" if you really want to vary the diet. You can also start trying other pellet-type food at this point. Congrats and good luck!!

yah i plan on only feeding massivore till the bags half empty then see if he'll eat NLS pellets too. i'm gunna hold off on the "treats" until i'm confident he will still eat pellets also.

picking up some large NLS pellets tonight. hope to sneek a couple in with the massivore and see if he'll eat those too. since he started taking pellets he's eating anything that hits the floor finally
