The one I have is 2" but I bushed it down to 1 1/2" only because that's what I had on hand. I use it on a lot of my pond installs. Does not clog.

Not true. It was put on a flow test bench and there was almost unmeasureable restriction. It's bell shaped and opening on all sides including the bottom. The ones that look like the ones on HOB filters measure a three pound restriction.

I found a strainer big enough for my setup, its drying now and will put it on tomorrow.

Tank is coming along now. With every water change, it stays clearer longer. Fish are eating well and the new larger strainer has been installed. Ammonia levels are starting to drop, testing every 3-4 days before a water change. Pretty soon I can add some rays
