i would think 10 to 12 inches should do it. i did the same thing you were doing with silvers..and it worked.i just had to seperate them until they were 10 to 12 inches...like it was too crowded to fight for territory..if that makes any sense.

Ripped fins seem to heal very fast in a matter of half a week.
