The Fluval FX5 is a good filter and it is easy to maintain. It can be a little heavy to move around when full, but other then that, I have had no problems with mine yet. I have a 125 Gallon tank with a Fluval FX5, AC110, and some Tetra H.O.B.(rated at 500GPH).
 
I love the FX5 as well and use several of them. The weight your talking about when full is the reason for the drain valve at the bottom of the canister. I have a length of hose that I toss out on the lawn and then drain the beasts before moving them.
