Fire Eel favourite place

I don't know much about Aro's why could you not have a piece of bamboo near the top?

I have a pic on another post so will find a link
 
Here you can see the bamboo, all I did was glue a little egg crate to one of the braces and cable tied to that with a small hole in the bamboo

Tank is still completely covered to stop the eel jumping out
 
Looks interesting.... maybe I can think of me something

But aren't you afraid he get stuck in the hole when he grow in girth?

They are pretty clever, they won't go in holes they can't fit in or out of. I have already had to enlarge the hole though in 3 weeks since I put it in and he fitted easily before. The end is totally open and 5 inches so they will never get that round and even if it did it would not be a sudden surprise.

The smaller ones at the end of the tank were for the tigrinus and these are gone now, the eel used to put his head in there but would go no further.
 
Not easy to find such bamboo in my country... If can maybe I try do something similar... bamboo looks more natural
