fire eel update: its almost 80 days and still no eating. i have tried ghost shrimp, nightcrawlers, frozen smelt, frozen shrimp, bloodworms, leaf worms, and pellets. I believe he was wild caught. I am thinking maybe parasites, but if i move him back to quarantine it may stress him out more. he looks great other than the not eating thing. i got him a longer, darker pipe to live in. i do not want to just start treating for something on a guess tho.

Yeah those things stress me out. Had one that only ate earthworms…it was a pain. Then he suddenly went off it and would not eat anything for a month. The only thing that he ate after that was frozen bloodworms and nothing else. Can’t understand fish that would rather starve. Try bloodworms…

i have put the bloodworms right inside his pipe. i have 3 fire eels. the smallest one had white poop a while ago, but that was the only time. they are in separate cages, and the small ones beg for food every day.
