fire eel questions

is a fire eel compatible with a oscar? if so is a fire eel a bio releasing fiend or is it alot cleaner than say a "oscar"

the eel is not as dirty like a oscar they do not spit their food in and out like oscars. also it really depend on the temperment of the fish my fire eel will fight ne cichlid not saying he will win but he will def protect himself. also u will need a very very large tank to keep both in the same tank. my eel is 24 inchs and could get almost 3 foot a oscar will get 12 plus inchs

When you are considering buying a fish that will grow to over 3 feet long, its cleanliness should be the least of your worries (there's no such thing as a "clean" fish at that size).

Most people tend to advise against keeping oscars with spiny eels for fear that the oscar will kill the eel, but like svtim said, it just depends on the temperament of the individual fish.

im going to put him in my 125 prolly if he wouldnt outgrow it in a year that is not sure on there growth rate... thats why im asking before i buy haha

they get up to 36"...

i know how "big" they get lol thats np i will more than likely end up with a 180-220 within a year.. when ever i decide to start building my house im going to build my new tank inside the wall =] its gonna be epic... lol

and if somthing happens within that year that i wont be able to upgrade i always have the option for putting him up for adoption

so that brings up my next question haha how long will a fire eel live in a 125 before needing to upgrade? and besides having a fish that will outgrow the tank is the perfect situation for " honey i think we need a bigger tank" muhahahaha
