i would some time if i didn't have any time to get him food i would look outside for earthworms. GL with him.
yes that should be fine. my 18" one i had to give up i give it to IsdaFish and hes now in a 180 gal.

Hiding spots are great but a bunch of pvc=an eel you will never see.I make a cave that i can still see into out of driftwood.
Try soaking market shrimp in the blood worms before feeding.It took my fire eel 6 weeks before he ate.He is now over three feet at 3.5 years of age.
