Can I put a firebelly toad in the same tank as native, American toads? Or are they territorial like fish? or should I not for reasons that I have not thought of?

they are poisonous, that's a pretty good reason not to mix.

The firebelly is poisonous for the predator to eat, right? or toxic/poisonous to just be around, where as the toads will die?

poisonous to eat, iirc, but any native toad/frog will try to eat the fire belly toad as soon as it can. also there is the issue of different habitat requirements.

Firebelly toads secrete a mild toxin aswell dont they? I heard something about it were a guy tried to set-up a bio-tope with fish and his fish died...

I may be remembering wrong though...:nilly:

I wouldn't do thatsince Firebellied toads are from Asia And the American Toad is from well here. THe toads would Compete and notice that Firebellied toads Like water where the American Toad does Not. Toad means live on land breed in water. Frog means Live in water or very close to it. Firebellied toads do have a MILD toxin in their skin and would be to much for the frog to handel.

Mixing frogs is heavily frown upon because a lot of them can eat each others, even their own size. Also some secrete toxins when they are stressed out.

Don't they have seperate husbandry requirements. Remember toxins are also leached into water etc...
