Why on earth would anyone feel it is morally acceptable to watch someone's house burn to the ground. If you have the resources (fire hose) you should show a little compasion for your fellow human being and put that damn fire out. Whether it's your job or not.

standing and watching? that's a just being a **** these people arn't human.

at most bill him afterwards for the firefighters time
Morally is one thing... Legally is the other thing. One of the fellow at work saw a car on fire. He used his fire extinguisher to help take out the fire. Later, he was sued by the other party for ruining his engine... WTF you may say! The best part, the other party won the law suit! We had a meeting and we were told to call 911 if we see a car on fire, and DO NOT use our fire extinguisher to take out the fire, since we're not trained fire fighter and we won't know what kind of damage a fire extinguisher can do to a vehicle...

Recently, there's a case in So. Cal. that may be broadcasted nationwide. A girl and her friend were on the way home from a party. Her friend lost control, crash, and the car was on fire. Worry for her friend safety, she pulled her friend out of the car that was burning. Her friend paralyzed, and sued her later for paralyzing her by pulling her out of the car. The court found that her friend was right, since she was not trained, and there's a possibilty that she injured and paralyzed her friend by pulling her out... So, guess what am I going to do, if I see a car on fire, with a person inside? I'm going to call 911, and wait for a fire truck coming to rescue... The best part, 911 will put me on hold the second I call them... How do I know? I've called 911 several time already, and the first thing they said to me is "Please hold!" :nilly:
Welcome to the real world, where there's no "if" or "what if." Like it or not, it's the real world you're living in!

Reminds me of the guy that shot a burglar and then got sued for paralyzing him. Moral of that story - always kill the burglar.

We'd get murder or manslaughter here, cant touch em even if theyre walking out the door with your stuff, not even by the arm to wait for the cops......

thanks. i believe, as do at one time a majority of america, in gettin what you pay for. If you dont pay for something u dont get it.

For some reason today, alot of people think they should get everything without needing to work or pay for anything. The sence of entitilment in this country is sickining.

hey, thats not entirely true! The rich are supposed to work and have the crap taxed out of them so that the goverment can house, feed and otherwise support everyone else. Oh and the schools are supposed to raise our kids and teach them right from wrong because the parents are too busy doing important stuff like going to protest marches! lol
Its America - everyones a victim and its never your fault. :nilly:
Thats one reason Ive stayed in the Marine Corps as long as I have - we have an archaic concept called accountability.

I'm assuming it's the same if they are trying to rape or kill you? Fun country their sport. I'll take having to pay my own bills and be able to protect myself over getting coddles by the government and killed by my neighbor.

Not sure why this happened in the lower levels of society. Once you get past a certain tax bracket you become responsible for everyone else. If you are making minimum wage and you kill or wound a bugler no problem. If you make over 60K then the intruder get a winfall. WTF.
