I only use Fireline in the lighter sizes (10lbs or under) on my spinning reels. Its stiffness due to it being a fused braid aids in casting.
Once it gets over 10 or 14 lbs, I think Fireline is too thick. I then use any of the PE braids made by Daiwa, Sunline, Yamatoya, or Nitlon. Fins PRT is also a great braid.
I don't like the Crystal, as I find that the strands separate more readily than the other Firelines. I normally use the Pink or Flame Green version; as I fish alot with soft plastics, and alot of times, you can't feel the fish take the lure, you have to watch the braid. The brighter colours are easier to see. If it twitches or moves un-naturally, strike! When finesse fishing with soft plastics, I would probaly miss half the strikes if I was to rely on feel alone.
