Tried the gelatin food. Shrimp, tailapia, hikari, scallops blend. First and second batch was soup suprise:eek: but got it right after that. Rays love it! It keeps fresh in the fridge for several days...then things go south. May try freezing some. Anyway, takes about 30 min. to make and clean up. Saves a ton of time at feeding. Thanks!

I finally found some Knox Gelatin 'n got 4 packets for 1.5$ to try... 'cept this won't be for rays.. but for my spiney eels hopefully! was wondering what you guys would suggest as far as amounts? here is what I would like to add either some or all of these...

- nightcrawlers
- FW shrimp/prawns
- frozen krill

these are all things my eels atm will eat. these are what I would like to introduce.

- NLS pellets
- peas
- Garlic (fresh cloves)
- some form of multi-vit, suggestions would be great.

approx how much per packet should I go with?

New info: The other day I went and bought some knox gelatine. Started making my food and realized I only bought the box with 4 packs instead of 8. Made the food anyways. Let it set-up. Fed it to the fish and it made a bigger mess than the last time.....

So I cut the food up into squares and set it out on the counter for a couple of hours then stored it in the fridge over night with no lid. And the results..... A lot of the excess moisture came out of the food. It made very little mess and the fish still ate it. Just thought this might help some people if their food is breaking apart too much.

My lady just made a giant batch of food that is only gonna be usefull if the fish need to be saved from drowning. Smashing the stuff doesnt seem to make it sink. :(

I've made several batches and never had an issue. Was it mixed it too long causing air bubbles?

Is there any tricks to make floating food sink?

thats exactly what my food is doing. i might let it thaw out and put it in the fridge for a bit to pull the extra moisture and hopefully bubbles out of it.

Made my first batch! more or less followed 1 cup per packet. and the texture came out perfect, think i'mna soak the pellets the night before though.. I got a bunch of "sand" at the bottom of my batch. I did a "general" batch and all my fish ate it 'cept the fire eels.. but they did try it and seemed to have more isues with the texture then the taste. So hopefully next one will turn out better, also plan on adding more of their foods as I did 1/4 frozen/fresh and 3/4 pellets.. Amazed at how fast my fish liked this stuff.

Made a batch for a family member.

This time I added 2 zucchini n some alge wafers, along w/1pm shrimp, 2 pc of tilapia n 2 handful of Cichlid Gold.
My ATF ate it!!! I think I will start to add some minor herbs in his diet :D

I too have noticed it only lasts for about a week but it beats daily prep of shrimp :D

just made a batch and i used a cupcake pan and made little cupcakes. i cut in half and fed my female motoro. i am just waiting for her to accept it. she already eats sinking carnivore but doesnt seem to like these yet. well i just gotta keep trying.
