  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I didn't even notice the screen name. I call everyone man or dude. I'm one of those guys.

It's ok, I play a lot of videogames and usually top the scoreboards so it's assumed I'm a guy often. catches a lot of people off guard when my headset is on. but as you can see by my profile, I am definitely a female. a walking contradiction. a bit off topic, sorry guys. Will post an update on my firemouth friend in a few days

I'm very excited to give you guys an update on the firemouth. The tail is actually a tail now and almost completely back! Ugh, still can't get over how disgusting my phone + terrible lighting makes everything look. Doesn't help that the playsand we used gets EVERYWHERE

Sorry this is a late response, I work 2 jobs and am just sitting down to MFK finally. No at the time of the fight the tank was stocked as followed:

8x silver dollar
1x Juvenile firemouth
1x Juvenile Jewel
1x Juvenile EBJD
1x Leopard Bush Fish
3x Reedfish
1x Juvenile Hoplo Catfish
1x Silver Arowana

I've been playing around with my stock while they are juveniles. My big species guys will be moving to a 240g (8foot) here within this next month then to a 540g so I'm overstocking as much as I possibly can without stressing the fish out while everyone is tiny so I can figure out what I want and what works before they are too large.

125 g (all of these are young juvenile)
1x Silver arowana
8x silver dollar
1x Peacock Bass Hybrid
1x Firemouth (the injured friend whose back to normal)
1x Green Terror (grabbed 2 and chose the mild mannered one)
1x Leopard Bush Fish
1x EBJD
2x Vieja Synspilum (will be picking out one)
2x Banded Severum (ordered Rotkeil, given these guys. May trade them in once I get rotkeil)
2x Black Convict (just laid eggs. Intended for their own tank though they are not that aggressive with breeding)
1x Hoplo Catfish
1x white mystery fish just picked up yesterday. Think it's a pink convict

37g
2x Indo Datnoid (one to be picked)
2x Blue Acara (one to be picked)
+assortment of dither fish and handful of some cory cats.

On order list:
Cuban cichlid
Ornate Bichir
Heros sp. Rotkeil

It's kind of odd, once I hit a certain amount the "bullying" of one fish suddenly disappeared. It was instantaneous. The target was the smallest of the vieja who was bullied by all, mostly the pbass who was convinced it could eat him. Was about to remove it, but threw in the convict from the smaller tank (to allow datnoid to grow out in peace) and BAM! all aggression gone. Everyone is peaceful and calm, anything that does start like a small chase gets broken up or distracted, and no one is singled out. Convict had babies almost immediately as expected and even then there isn't anything happening, though everyone has been gently herded to the other side of the tank, but is allowed to come near without being attacked ruthlessly. Very strange, but don't expect it to last long.
