Congrats on getting eggs! To get them to hatch I always cut off the egg bundle from the glass with a razor blade and then put them on top of a sponge in a tupperware container with it about an inch of water in it then put the lid on, place it in a warm place"Floating in the aquarium" or some where else and they will hatch in a few weeks keep checking they will hatch out and then crawl down the sponge in to the water then i dump them in the aquarium if there are no fish that is:} Ps: if you leave them under the light chances are they will dry out so much, the babys cant get out of the casing and will die or never hatch that has been my experience. Good luck

Oooohhh!!! I remember having both golds and ivories mate. The babies were all golds and ivories.:grinyes:

Cool! I don't know anything about snail genetics and crossing different color morphs. Good to know I'll get both! Thanks man.

Thank you! I did remove the eggs, but I placed them in a container with wet paper towels, under the stand. It seems pretty warm down there (the weather warmed up recently, but I believe I do have a smaller container that I can use and float it in the tank.

Thanks for the tips!

Okay, I moved the egg clutch and moist paper towels into a smaller container and I am floating it in the tank.

I punched a few small holes in the lid....

My apple snails have had several clutches, I've never had them turn blue? They went from light pink to a dark coral color, then to an almost white as they came closer to hatching time. And from having nothing better to do one Saturday a.m., I noticed my blue one starting to lay eggs. It took her almost 5 hours to finish! Realized from keeping a journal on them, that the blue ones seem to do their egg laying after being fed a few (canned) green beans. And the eggs were safe from others in the tank until they actually hatched. Time really seems to go by slowly while waiting for anything in a tank to be born or hatch! :nilly:"if patience is a virtue, I am not not very vertuos"

I'm impressed you keep a journal of your hobby.

To the moderator: I'm a newbie on here, as you can tell.* Please direct me or tell me how to start a new 'thread'. I'm not real comp. lit. yet, can't figure it out. So sorry for my stupidity = SS4MS :nilly::(
