I just got a 6" silver arowana. This is my first Arowana. I have read a good bit of material on the species, but I would still really appreciete any input or suggestions from you wise keepers of the monsters. I am about to start into an Aquatic Biology major and I have been keeping fish for 3 or 4 years now. I love 'em and hope to spend the remainder of my life studying and enjoying them. I know that there is alot out there that I just simply do not know yet though. So please...shoot me some advice.

-Thanks Keepers

get it onto pellets, its much cheaper and healthier in the long run,gl with ur aro

matty

Thanks...yeah I figured there wasn't anything too different than keeping simple tropical fish, except that water changes need to be more constant and air pump is mandatory...and of corse...big tank with a secure lid.

Thanks guys...like I said, just looking for input on how to treat my new Aro right.

I got him going on the pellets...and I was planning on keeping that as his staple diet. Thanks for affirming matty.

no problem, any pics of this beauty ?? ;)

got any pics also what size tank he has? just make sure to cover ur tank, i lost an aro like that too.

Cool fish, get a big tank....or a barbeque...

Be sure that your decorations are mostly low in the tank and that none have jagged edges. The few times that my 24" silver aro decided to go ape sh*t and dash for the bottom, I was very glad that I had nothing down there for him to tear himself up on.
