  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for the compliment, im still hoping to catch a big blue cat like in your sig cuz supposedly there are some 10-20lbs in this pond just haven't had any luck with em yet

i went thursday and it got up to about 65 but i caught most of my fish before 11am and it was probably high 50s/low 60s, when i went sunday and caught this big one it was probably high 40s at about 9am but it shot up to about 60 by 10:30, water temp is probably still like 45-50 tops cuz the lows at night are still in the mid 30s/low 40s

the ponds here have just unthawed, i might try and go find some crappie this week if i find time and pending weather ofcourse. the river is in the high thirties.

Blue cats absolutely love cut bait. wait till the sun starts to set and throw out a big chuck or shad or bluegill. Thats when theyll start to feed in the shallow areas. good luck!

florida and texas get it the best with big bass populations, its just not fair haha - i'd love to go down there and fish some time.

i disagree about em not tasting good though, i've only ate it twice and once was last week after i gill hooked one fishing for catfish and it tasted pretty good fried up, still not gonna start keeping em

california has better bass i agree with texas but somewhat disagree with florida but bass are junk fish theres no use to them really

Its a 5lb bass. That is large for a LMB here. If you catch such large bass post them up here.

Yellow_Perch, don't come here to sling your hate. Be respectful. A 5lb bass is a nice bass. Don't say its anything else, because it isnt.

If you don't have anything nice to say, then say nothing and go to another forum so you and all your "friends" can trash talk each other.

It's not wanted here.

@kcoastsurfguy

they were hitting here for a bit. we took the boat out but cant find any. I think they might be running to the next area theyll be at for awhile and they should be up there the first weekend in march.

Overall I caught maybe 100+ 5 lb fish in 1 1/2 years, (Very rough guess) without too much time outside at all. I still need to find a better fishing spot though, my original lake was cleaned out of big bass. Must have seen several 8 lb fish being dragged home for dinner last year, it's a bummer too since big bass don't taste good at all. (The best cook in the world, my mom, tried it on a 10 pounder, blech, catch and release since then!)

Where do you fish, I live in Orlando now and am trying to find some spots, I dont have too much experience with big lakes but if you recommend some Ill give it a try, Im near the econ river and there aint nothin in there, some local lakes have numbers but no size/

btw nice fish man, My friends and I fish with a pt system, anything over 12 (sometimes 14inch) is a pt, over 18 2 pts, over 21 3pts. That looks to be about 20 inches (?), its a nice fish, 2 pters dont come easy :).
