You'll see that when the water is cold and the color of the water can change their color alittle also. It's just like are cichlids the color/ pattern can change depending on their mood !

while you're right, here's a pic of one i caught there last july

little darker but not much, idk they're all just really healthy looking fish with good form in that place. I've seen a couple bigger bass explode on minnows there but haven't caught em yet, if i get a hold of one this year i'll take a picture for reference and see if they stay this shade
