That's right and there's a political brouhaha taking place in this area because a loophole has been discovered that allows residents who were denied a CCW permit to go online and apply to another state for a permit.If and when they are approved and granted the permit from the other state it then has to be honored by this home state who deemed the individual unfit in the first place.
 
My first was a Mossburg Mod. 500 Trench Gun, actually it belonged to my "Uncle" but he was nice enough to let me use it. Not a big fan of AK's for the same reason!

Some cities and counties can also have certain laws in place along with what is required by the state.Here on the other hand,Philadelphia politicians have been trying for years to change and restrict current gun laws but so far to no avail because state law supercedes anything else and municipalities can't enact their own laws...Just like J. said,it all depends on where you are and what is on the books.

I suggest look past the 30-06 and jump into the 7mm remington magnum in the Savage model 11fns, its a great rifle and the 7mm is far superior to the 30-06 ballistically with just a hair increase in felt recoil. Alot of gun for the money, I shoot Hornady 139gr Light Magnum btsps in mine and believe me, itll make an exit hole in a white tail big enough to put my boot in....with good shot placement you wont have to worry about tracking them. If you have money to blow, I suggest you look past the 7mm rem mag and look at the 7mm STW....its an unbelieveable round. Good luck in whatever you decide.
 
30-06 has great stopping power. One of the all time great rounds along with the .45 cal. up close has saved many GI's lives.
 
i love the .30-06 cause it's so versatile and very popular. i like how it fairly cheap and you can find it everywhere compared to the other rounds
