First mega tank planning stages

King of diy did a smaller version out of storage drawers, i may try a play on that. Into a 75gallon i have laying around. I also have some unused rain barrels laying around I could try to figure somthing out with. Maybe them and some 5g buckets into a kind of a swirl filter.

I've used the drawer thing it works well. You need to be careful how close the holes are drilled to the sides or you'll get splashing.

I think I will use a sump as well as a pond filter im not sure i would have the space for a large enough sump by its self. I am going to do a test of concept on my aquaponic idea with a few 40s I have laying around.

I will do a direct over flow from tank to tank with a pump returning it through a small nft set up in my non display area using some goldfish and see how it works for nitrate reduction.

First 2 months I will run just the sump feeding back into the livestock tank tracking nitrates week to week pre wc. Then add the aquaponic system and do the same. If the results show a large reduction in nitrates then I will work on figuring it out for the big tank, if not then I will scrap the idea and just add an ac110 or two with pothos
