in the future for many stingrays and cats. Thank you very much for all the nice compliments, more pics to come.[/QUOTE]

Great tank! It looks fantastic the way you built it through the wall.

What cats are you going to put in it?

Nice tank,
but the filtration seems small to me. The only reason I say that is b/c I have had a few problems in the past with filtration. I had almost 200g of wet/ dry and turning the tank over about three times an hour and I still had problems with ammonia(Very little amounts of ammonia, but it still affected the fish adversly). I will say that my tank was very well stocked. Are you going to go for a lot of fish?

thanks for the concern but I have done tanks like this for a long time never with any problems with ammonia. You probably don't see the OC filters under the stand very well in the pictures, They will help a bunch with biological, mechanical and chemical filtration along with the tank turnover being more like seven times an hour

arapaimag- 2 of the cats absolutely have to be tigrinus and jurenese, other than that perhaps asian red tail, sturio (duck bill), mamaratus?

That is pretty snazzy, How long did it take to get that put in? and what sort of reinforcement, if any, did they have to do to the wall/floor?
And most importantly, what are you putting in it?

I had the tank for almost four years before it was installed but once we got to the install it took about a week to build the stand and get the tank on it (with a forklift) and then quite a while to get the plumbing done, an hour here and there. As far as the house we had to jack hammer out the garage floor because is was only 4" thick and 2000 psi concrete and pour 8" of 5000psi concrete. The wall that the tank sits in is load bearing so we tripled laminate beams creating a new header to run the distance of the room, other than that it was pretty straight foward. Last but not least using your words "most impotantly" I have 3 C. monoculus 1 T. Pearsie and 2 Crenichicla sp. Cobra. In the future plans for many cats and stingrays.

We have just had an extention to our house with a new fish room built on the side of the garage. When the foundations were dug the building inspector made us put a suspended floor in because it is made up land. The floor hase been made to take a 15x5x3 tank and the floor modifications cost £3000 or about $5500.Needless to say the big tank has now been delayed somewhat.Still,if we want to park a fully laden tanker anywhere..........
