Hi all,

Well, a somewhat eventful weekend....

Long story short, I did a large water change on Sat, had no dechlorinator, killed approx 100 fish or more...

Sun, I purchased approx 135 new fish to replace the losses. From the same supplier and they had had them for several weeks.

All seem fine, but we will see. I intend to purchase about 2 cases of 2 liter Prime :)

I also pulled the trigger on the DSLR and got this package earlier:

I am impatiently waiting for the battery to charge so I can start playing around. Looking forward to learning more about photography and my new camera. It shoots HD video as well, so interested to play with that as well.

I hope to post something later, but we will see.

Take care and hope all is well out there...

Sorry to hear about your fish. Always disappointing to make fish pay for such a silly mistake, but oh well.

Excited to see the pics with your new camera. It looks sweet!

Hi all,

Keith was kind enough to lighten some of the photos he took last week and posted them on a link. May not last 4ever if he ever needs to clean up his space allocation :)

Some great shots of the fish and the detail is tremendous. Very interesting perspective and look and I think they look FANTASTIC.

Hope the link works...

That link works.

I don't mean to sound critical and I hope I don't offend, but to me, they do look artificially lightened, almost washed out, and not true to the colors of your tank. There's a few shots that seem a little darker that do look GREAT!

Hi,

No worries, I am not offended at all. Is your opinion after all...

I feel the same way basically so no biggie especially :) I wanted to show the detail he got and how Photoshop can really alter the look,

Yeah there are a couple that are tops.

Thanks for commenting...

Hi all,

I made a few small changes, mostly around the jave ferns..whilst doing a large water change today. I took some shots earlier with my new camera at the highest resolution and used a diff ISO setting (2000) for these pics to play around.

They convey nicely how the tank looks and the color of the araguaia esp is nice...I took these at 'high noon' for the ATI earlier...after a large water change (plenty of prime) and washing all the glass inside and out with white vinegar...No scraping of the inside at all.

I really like how it looks now. I need to fluff/rearrange slightly the left side and the java to loosen it up a little and let it look more natural..

The FISH look great and I am totally digging the view from the couch and all POV really... It really does look teriffic to me and am very pleased. I really dig the camera too and am getting a bit more familiar with the basic operation and such. Video to come.

Here is a slideshow as the pics are much too large to post here...
