first round of pics...testing out a new cam

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sweet, is that just a spotted bar, the 2nd one? the other is a cuban, right?

thanks for the comments guys :) i will try to get some more shots up as i continue to play around with the cam.

i wasn't able to figure out how to insert text in between the photos i posted, so here is the species list of the pics since some people have asked:

1 - blood gourami
2 - Congo tetra
3 - leopard ctenopoma/African bush fish
4 - snakeskin gourami
5 - rainbow fish sp.
6 - African bonytongue/arowana (Heterotis niloticus)
7 - close-up of African arow
8 - African bonytongue (larger specimen)
9 - African tigerfish (Hydrocynus vittatus)
10 - Cuban gar (Atractosteus tristoechus)
11 - crocodile gar 'type II' (Atractosteus spatula x Lepisosteus platyrhincus OR oculatus) -
this is the second gar pictured. some people were asking about it. it's a hybrid, and the only one of its kind that i have ever encountered either in person or any photos i have seen and people i have talked to (and that's a pretty effective scouring of the net and literature). i've raised that fish up since it was 3" long; he's pretty much the boss of my big gar tank "Gar-Den II" :)
12 - Florida gar (Lepisosteus platyrhincus)
13 - ATF (close-up)

any full shots of the GAR-DEN ??

thanks guys :)

rayman - i am going to try and get full-tank shots of various setups tonight. i just finished shooting some pics since i was lucky enough to have the P. endlicheri congicus come out of his cave from that tank (he is just about always hiding during the day) so i got some pics of him too.

fishskins - it is a sony DSLR; got it to replace my mysteriously malfunctioning sony F717. i like it so far, but still haven't learned even a fraction of what the new cam can do (heck, i didnt have a complete understanding of my old cam before it died :P)

AroW - the ATF is about 6+" long and currently resides with a small South American lungfish, and a short-finned (Anguilla sp.) eel. they all get along quite well :) i bought it at just under 4".

more pics to come!--
