first round of pics...testing out a new cam

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
WOAH!!!!!!!!!! That camera is wicked nice and the fish are beautiful.

thanks again guys :)

vanimate - i am not using a macro lens with any of the shots so far, but i plan on at least using the macro setting on the camera in the near future with further shots. i had some macros for my old camera, but unfortunately they don't work with the new one (may try to find some sort of adapter, we'll see).

the african arow in the pics isn't the one you will be receiving (it's actually one of the two that went to BOTR), but rest assured yours looks very similar to it :)

here are some more pics of some other fishes and a couple more of the crocodile gar too. hopefully i'll have some time to get some lungfishes pics in the next couple days--

Solomon, have you considered entering any of these pictures into the POTM competitions that croc gar has the grace and colours, you have the skill with the camera, i think you would have a pretty good chance of winning!

thanks man, i appreciate the compliment :) i haven't considered the POTM, but for now i'm happy just toying around with the camera and sharing the pics with people. aside from keeping fishes, i have always enjoyed sharing pics and even moreso seeing pics of other peoples fishes...especially since we can't see most people's setups in person!

i have been 'fish-sitting' for a friend who is on vacation, so i snapped a few shots of his fishes over the weekend as well:

1 Scleropages leichardtii

2,3 Mbu puffer

4 Miurus puffer

hey ed -

the leichardtii has been grown up from since it was about 3" last year, it's currently about 13.5". it's a great looking specimen, i'm going to try and get more shots of it sometime in the near future...this particular individual is just about as mean as a jardini though!

soggysandwich -

some of those first pics just use the lighting on the tanks, which is a series of fluorescent lights. the mid/later pics also use a flash.--
