first shark suggestion

your gonna need sand on the bottom. my buddy's just died cuz he had a gravel bottom and it cut its stomach and got infected.

That's only because the shark wasn't cared for properly. I've kept hundreds of bamboos on 'gravel' without issue.

Again, the link says 'catshark', but it's a bamboo. Catsharks have a different jaw structure. I HATE Live Aquaria. They have so much wrong info that they shouldn't be allowed to sell fish. And just for information's sake, they only look like that when young. As an adult, they have very faint banding, and look almost a solid tan color. Also requires WAY more than the 180 gallons they suggest. That will be over 3 feet long when fully grown and need space to swim freely. I also wouldn't consider them an 'aggressive' shark at all. In fact they are widely used in public aquarium touch pools.

I was looking into a Coral Cat Shark, from what I understand they are a little hard to get a hold of but active and stay right around 2 feet. I am planning on a 350 gallon tank for them. Best to keep them in something that is 96x48x(whatever).

So for a 300 gal I should stick to something small like a coral cat?

That's not exactly the style filter you should be going for with a bigger pool.
You'll want to look into external self contained filters with a pump instead of something like that which would work better on a small aquarium.

Even a small magnetic drive pump and a canister with a fine micron filter would do. Just match the size of the pump and filter to how much water you have to keep clean.

could you post a link or a pic? I am not sure that I know what you are talking about.
