First one is a turquoise or a cobalt....too young to tell if it is a cobalt yet (patterns almost disappear when matured). Second is a leopard. I am very surprised that you got these good quality fish from a LFS. They look healthy and great quality. I would most definetly recommend getting 2-3 more to make them comfortable since discus are a schooling fish. Plus more fish will lessen any aggression issues. Keep the temp warm and the water changes frequent and you will do well.

glad someone said it. Get an odd numbered school at about 5 same sized fish (you'll have the least aggression problems) and throw some dither fish in (y'know... cardinal tetras/hatchet fish and what not) to make them feel more comfortable.... then you'll really see their personality shine.

Okay cool.. will look at getting 3 more tomorrow... I just wanted to make sure I got the water right etc... I tested and cycled it properly but you never know... these two seem to be really active and happy in there (although a bit shy) and they're eating well so I'm happy enough to get some more now... those two cost me £80 alone lol

Well the British pound has weakened to the US dollar recently, so it seems you paid $117.00 for the 2. I bet the eruption leopard cost at least double the turquoise/cobalt. I would say comparable to what I'd have to pay in the US from my preferred online vendor.

Hey guys, the first two I bought were a red diamond and a brilliant turq red....
Then I bought two more today one being a Red Melon and the other a Blue Eruption I think ... will post pics of the two new ones later :)

Sweet, looking forward to seeing some of the new guys....:grinno:

Okay so have taken some more pics now and added two more fish... they're all doing great and are already loving their food

very nice discus :)

Thanks :-) It's better now the cloudyness has gone... hasn't happened since and I couldn't detect anything chemically different with it when it did so.
They greedy buggers!!!.... going to have to get an automatic feeder when I'm staying out or at work..... at first they were a lil bit picky which I was expecting but already eating everything... :) yay
