Well it can as long as its a big enough tank but it will eat a lot of the things that you would put in a reef tank. Basically you could but it would not be reef safe.
 
quick suggestion, once you get the tank set, mix your salt in a bucket first, before putting it in, much less of a hassle, and check the salinity of each bucket. I dont recommend lion fish for much of anything, unless you keep them mostly alone
 
OK guys... we have definately decided to go reef... we know we are a (oops i mean) want a couple of clowns, Tangs, maybe a snowflake eel??? Help with list please.
 
I put some suggestions on your other post, is there other things your looking for other than just being reef safe? There are tons of fish that you could use, pretty much to many to name.
 
Ok... great, I will check it. I checked water last night. PH is like 8.4 and salinaty was almost in the zone. Yay... maybe I can add sand this week!!!!!

^^x2 If you mix the salt in buckets it should only take a day or less to fully dissolve the salt, much quicker.
 
ok... I still have a fine layer of salt... hasn't changed in days... my salinaty is at a tad above 26 PPT. Gravity @ 1.019+... since Saturday. Would adding live sand help... or hurt... what to do from here?
