First trip to a real LFS

Pretty excited, taking my first visit to a legitimate LFS since I was a little kid - and never since I started keeping tropicals. All my fish have been from petsmart, and i've been fortunate enough to pick out really healthy specimens and have very few health problems to this point. However I've never seen most tropical monsters in person - and the reviews i've read are pretty good for fish. The only bad reviews the store got was from some idiot woman who was getting mad about a sign. Their parking lot has a sign that says 'No Vegans' as a joke because there is a vegetable stand on the other side of the lot, lol.

I'm probably not gonna buy anything tomorrow, but just for reference what would you guys say is an average price at a good fish store for the following fish as juveniles:

Delhezi Bichir
German Rams
Bumble Bee Catfish
Gold spot pleco

I appreciate any input in advance :P
 
not bad haha, my petsmart doesn't carry them though, our fish department isnt all that big. i couldnt find any good stores where i live but i found this one finally about a half hour to 45 minute drive away :P

Also add to that list EBJD?
 
Tons of views.. anybody have any insight on average prices for any of those fish?
 
anywhere from 5$ to 40$.. but thats midwest prices.. no clue what your market is like. the pleco and del would be the 2 high end ones. and I've seen EBJDs around here from 10$ to 20$ on average.

It is really hard to give even ballpark estimates on the fish. Locally owned fish stores around here can vary a lot in price, and I imagine that is the case everywhere. Also it depends of course on the size/age of the fish. That said, I think a decent price for the bichir might be $25, the rams $8, the catfish $5, and the pleco $25.

If I run into these prices I may end up coming home with some fish even though im planning to just go look, haha :P
 
dehl goes for about 50$ all day under 10". EBJD almost size of fry to 2" Go for about 20-40$ German rams aboout 8$ thats all I know. We have about 5 LFS wihin 45min of each other and they are all over priced from what I have seen through MFK.
 
around my way... I have seen gold spot plecos go for 40, EBJD go for 35, Blue rams for 12, and the bichirs about 25- 30... Good luck and post any new purchases!!
 
I definitely Will, if i can run in to a delhezi around 5-6" for under 30 i may end up with one - probably gonna try and convince myself to wait until after christmas haha
