fish alive in a filter

so, i go to dump out my fx5 can about an hour ago while cleaning my 250, and suddenly theres a 6" polypterus swimming around my basement sink almost going down the drain :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: been a long damn time since ive had my heart race like that. damn fish scared me :ROFL:

thank god i stuck the end of the tank hose in the drain fast so he couldent swim down, and netted him right back to the 250. his tail is slightly beat up, he's breathing hard, BUT ALIVE!!! its been around 4 weeks he's been in there, since thats when i last saw the pacu's knocked the bottom of the intake off again. stupidly dident think to check if all 3 poly's and pike were accounted for

anyone else ever find a "surprise" like this in their filters or sump??
 
I found a clown loach, alive and kicking ( thoufgh slightly bent ) in a 2250 Eheim filter. Was there for a couple of months.
 
Not a fish that large,...found a smaller convict in my emp400
when cleaning,..that one didn't make,..also found a small skunk loach in there,..and he lived:)

4 wks and still alive,..thats insane!:)

now THATS amazing. i thought my poor poly was bad for a month. imagine your poor clown :(
 
I once found a few feeders alive in my Magnum 350.
 
I found a 2'' rainbow inside an internal filter once, very strange as it was at the top above all the media and the cover was on it. This was when we had a large community setup so it's impossible to tell how long it was in there for or how it got there in the first place. The fish was fine BTW.

Found 2 frogs in the pump workings in the pond, somehow the cover had come off and they got sucked up in there. One lived the other one died.
 
I found a slightly grown electric yellow mbuna thriving in my fx5. He wasn't that big when he went in. I don't check my filter for months at a time.

I have found a total of 4 fish in my Fx5, all alive and well.
