So I finally got around to finishing my first Cichla painting! Took much longer than expected, but it's because it turned out to be a more complex composition than I had originally intended haha. I'd like to thank the community here for posting so much awesome reference material! Makes my life so much easierAnd a special thanks to Gangster, Jacunaba, Kendragon, and HULON for their help with images. I've learned a lot about the various differences and similarities between the Peacock species. Can't wait to do some more paintings.
Unfortunately, I'll be taking a brief break to do some concept art for a book. However, as soon as I'm finished, more paintings! In the meantime, hope you enjoy The Orinocensis.

Yup here's the link again http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/javier-lazo.html The site has a really fun tool to play around with colored frames/mattes if your interested in that direction. The previews look great! But just a note that the mattes are only available in certain sizes
