Anybody ever gotten or given a fish as present ?? Want to know if this is common as i have asked for fish as a gift on several occasions.

My first fish ever were given as gifts. The first was a betta when I went off to college, the second was a 20g with a trio of adult convicts and a pleco.
People have thought about giving me fish before, I always turn down the idea. I want to choose my fish and hand pick them myself.

A friend wanted to get me a Gold Nugget Pleco for me once...unfortunately, I didn't have the room.
