for the most part its my geophagus and pictus cat my c/l's and datnoids are fine so is the aro that is temp. housed in that tank and he is the biggest fish.other than that no scratching eyes are clear color is awsome on everyone actually the fish in that tank all look stunning

What is your water temperature? Also, the filter output should be oriented so that it circulates the surface water forward and then down against the front glass panel.

Ive been having this same problem. Every since I switched from my 55 gal to my 120. Makes total since w/ the o2 problem. My tank is filtered by 2 penguin 350 bio wheel filters(70 gal each) and a tetra whisper 40(40gal) so im a good 60 gallons over on extra filteration. BUt no airstones. My raphael cats that I had in my 55 do fine. But everytime I add a new cat.....they die. I do weekly 30% w/c. Gonna add an airstone later today.

One capful of prime per 50g. You can safely add over 3x the dose.

Sorry..This is incorrect...Sea-chem themselves say do NOT over dose prime...It builds up over time and depletes O2 levels...Shoot them a E-mail and see for youself...;)

I highly doubt it was oxygen related...especially with plants. unless your running a co2 system thats taking the place of the o2 its got to be something else. Airstones IMO are good for nothing more than making the tank look nifty. I think there is something you havent tested for that is either killing your fish or taking the place of the oxygen.

some people dont even run filters or airstones...no water movement at all just plants and although only lightly stocked their fish still thrive.
