A group trip would be hot! :FIREdevil

Expedition Pricing does NOT Include the Following:

The cost of any permits that may be required for exporting items (tropical fish, plants, etc.) from Peru. If you do plan on exporting items that may need a permit, plan this well in advance - it takes a long time to arrange permits, and we won't be able to help at the last minute.

Has anyone ever gone fish collecting in the Amazon or anywhere in Ce/SA...I am really interested in taking one of the charters but am confused about how many or what kinds of fish you can take back. Please post all the infromation you know about it.. Thanks
You can come to brazil and collect all you want!!!! but you couldnt bring anything back without expensive permits. i am getting lonely here though.

I've just come back from 3 weeks fish collecting in Brazil - covered clear water rivers in the south west around the pantanal - the rivers around Belem at the coast and in the Tapajos -

Collected an undescribed species of angel (very exciting 20 are winging their way to the UK in December) as well as 4 tetras and unnumbered L - numbers , as well as catching a large number of rays of various species, types and sizes, various cichlids (including discus in the most remarkable of environments - more reminiscent of lake malawi habitat), piranhas of course and oodles of catfish

What an amazing country - will post pics as soon as I recover

What are the processes you had to go through for export/import? The airfare for me is next to nothing and I already have contacts allover the country. Just never thought of bringing back any fish with me... until of course zebra plecos became rare right after I came back. Did you eat any fresh fried pacu/tambaqui while you were there. Makes me wanna go visit family sooner just to eat the pacu. :)

I've been there several times. As well as in the Parana River in northern Argentina ( for Dorados )...

Mythical places. Mythical experiences.

If I ever went to Brazil I think Id have a hard time deciding if Id head into the jungle to go fishing or stay in the big cities on the coast and go to the beach for some sight seeing if you know what I mean!
