Fish creation vs. Fish evolution?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
speaking as a molecular geneticist, I have to say that evolution, randomness, and complexity theory account entirely for life. see the experiments of urey and miller to see what i'm talking about. As one responisible forcreating a glowing chicken, I have to say that tehre is no way a higher power with a specific design for life would give us this much freedom, unless he/she/it had a sense of humor. Of course! God has a sense of humor! that explains everything!

If you want a good experiment for the question of evolution try this: take a box, fill it with all the parts of your filter and shake and tumble it till it all comes together. Then you can prove with a shadow of a doubt that evolution is possible.

You can have the development of new sub species due to the fact that differing area's require differing adaptaion but a fish is a fish just as a duck is a duck.

You owe me thirty bucks for a new HOB filter. I have been shaking the box for over 5 minutes!

Until enlightenment we chop wood and carry water.
After enlightenment we chop wood and carry water.

Thats a deep philosophical way of saying what difference does it make.

I don't chop wood or carry water. I am an account manager! That is NOT in my job description. Thats it, I QUIT!

Stephen Hawking also acknowledges evolution (not really in terms of living animals but of the evolution of the universe) and mentions a higher power in his books. As we all know, it all started with the big bang. I believe that a higher power initially intervened, causing that singularity to become unstable and explode. That higher power (God) set it off in a way that would lead to the universe being created in a manner that was pre-determined. That is, He intended for everything to exist/evolve the way it has and set off the big bang in a manner that would allow for it to evolve to fit His image. Since then though, He has let nature take its course. IMHO (right now... might change as I age/learn more. Definately open to suggestions)

I like this thread and am also interested in hearing other possibilities and opinions. I think we can handle this without it escalating into a fight.

By the way.... "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking = GREAT READ. I'm personally more of a bio. guy, but this book definately kept my interest. One of the most interesting books I have read.

I believe your spot on, for the most part the way I feel/think....

why does it necessarily be God? there's a million stories we can make up to explain existence and the big bang, whoops, heh, don't flame me, i'm an athiest, now you know why i didn't want to get into this

Actually it was me, sorry.
