fish for my 55

Puffer. One of the medium-sized freshwater ones that gets around 6" - 8". Just do research and make sure you have a correct ID and adult size. Probably want to start a snail culture now, too, if you go the puffer route. And know that he'll be the only thing in the tank.

Totes agree, dude. Orange Congo Puffers are really cool. they'll lie in wait in the substrate then lunge out to grab prey. they're pretty nifty.

I'd tell you right now what I would do if somebody handed me a 55g and told me to do whatever I wanted, I'd load up on some chaca chacas, a few african butterfly fish and a good herd of brochis splendens or brochis britskii "cories". Oh, that's making my wallet itch...
