Fish Hot Takes

When you start up your tanks consider your tap water parameters before choosing fish.
I believe I am struggling a bit due to our hard water. Fish are vibrant and healthy but struggling a bit with pitting.
And it’s not every type of SA cichlid so it could take a bit of research but your tap water (to me) is so important. Especially if you don’t have room, facilities or time to pre-treat your water.

Depends on the type of Africans, but I’ve had luck doing that.

A real "hot take" in this hobby is research, or lack of to be more precise. It is absolutely key in this hobby. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

Agreed...but only if you're looking with an actual intention to educate yourself and not simply find something to justify a thing you want. Problem with the internet is there is as much good as bad. If you go looking for tank size for Oscars, because you want to keep 3 in a 75gal for life - you're always going to find that ONE person/article that tells you it's totally fine and disregard the 200 you passed before that telling you absolutely no way.
