Fish ID

So, I went to my LFS again today to get some food for my new Bullhead. Before I went, I took a look at the Native Fish tanks they had setup, in hope of finding another Bullhead seems how they received new fish today, no luck. But, when I was looking in one of the tanks, I saw this guy. Now, I have no clue what he is. There was about three in the tank, but I only got one for now. The tank just said Assorted Native Fish, and they were on sale, so I thought, "Why not?".
I'm not sure if he is a species of Bluegill or Sunfish maybe? Any ideas?
Its a very nice looking fish.

They make great aquarium fish. Mean as hell!

I had one that if I did not feed him right away, would start splashing to get my attention.
Very nice fish, I have one in my garden pond now.

I currently have mine in a 10-Gallon. Moving him into a 40-Gallon later (Few hours). He has decided to jump out of the water every know and again. Had to make sure the cover was on tight, lol.
Do you guys think he would do fine with a Pumpkinseed Sunfish?

i catch them in the same areas in the local lakes .. toss my line in the same place at catch both .. but thats nothing like them together in a tank

fyi my largest "bluegill" common name around here is around 10" and over a lb .. so they get much larger then they look.
