I read on here that Motas need a minimum of 75 gallons. Am I safe to assume my tank is too small?

i have seen some 12" pairs of mota's in 55's, i would say you'll probably want to stay clear of them, they get cramped in 55's. I would say a pair of Gt's would be the way to go.

I think Flowerhorns get too big for 60 gallons don't they?

yup, anywhere from 12-15" full length for most, i'd definetly stay clear from them.

grammodes, is another great looking fish, you may want to try, not very common, But they take a long time to grow out into the great colored adults.

I don't like flowerhorns, they are overpriced, especially for the babies that you don't know what they'll end up looking like. A 2" costs $20 around here and a 3" $30. I'm thinking about going to my favorite lfs and seeing if they have any larger oscars that need a home, I think that'd be nice. Last time I was in there they cost around $30 for a 8"+ oscar (all priced the same). Does that sound like a fair price? I may do the same with a GT or two if I find a good deal.
