Until you have time to get the stock way lower I would do a lot of water changes. Also look into the solution bottle test kits. More accurate results than strips. GL

Thanks for all your help guys everyone on here has been so nice and helpful . I can't say thank you enough. I will keep this tread active and update when I get my stock sorted .

You test the water yet?

Sorry for the delay my sister in law had her baby last night just goth home now lol. Yea I tested it both nitrite and nitrate were high and something else ko or something I will check on that and post it later. But anyway I did a 50% water change. Should sort that out.

The one above looks to be Pelmatolapia mariae, a fairly aggressive species from Africa.
They are also very common as an introduced invasive in Florida.

Thank you so much for your help . So far he just swims about with my aro. He don't seem to notice any other fish in the tank. Does he get much bigger as a guess he is around 4 to 5 inches long now . The only thing in my tank that's doing anything aggressive is 2 of my Jack Dempsey they keep grabbing each other by the mouth and like pushing each other . That's the best way I can describe it . Other than that every fish in my tank gets on fine together so far . Thanks again for your help.

You need to get a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft 180 us gallon tank at least and an fx5 or fx6 filter fast.
Having nitrite in your tank is really very bad toxic infact, how long has the tank been setup?

It's been running for around a month now

Nitrite is a sign the tank isn't cycled, Google how to cycle a tank or you will likely lose some or all of your fish mate...
You need to do big 60-70 percent water changes a day now, add aqua safe every time, use pond aqua safe it's much cheaper....
Google the growth rates of the fish, the arowana will ideally need a 1000 litre tank as a minimum if he survives, they get huge.

I know it's hard but I would take most the fish back to the store and start getting the tank running properly. The tank is only big enough for a male jack dempsey and several females really. Maybe 1 pleco.
