This is a pretty hardcore site. So for most or shall I say alot here it's a way of life. Me personally I go back and forth.. most of the times it's a way of life, and on bad days I step back from it and make it a hobby..

I really have to agree. I've made my fish a major part of my life. I went from a 20g and a 46g less than a year ago when I joined MFK to 385 gallons running right now. I've even taken a part-time job at a LFS in addition to a full-time job so I can be around more fish without adding more tanks here. (and for the sweet discounts) But from time to time I step back and look at it as a hobby especially when other things in my life get busy and require more time and money.

life is like a jewel with many facets. fish keeping to me is a major facet of this gem called life.

I am glad this site is hardcore, and that others love fish a lot. I guess some ppl can view dog breeding as a hobby rather than life, and I guess same goes for fish keeping. My intention was to have it as a hobby, however, just being around fish and seeing them, well it was easy to grow very attached to them and they quickly became part of the family, so its a life for me as I said before.

I've been keeping fish on and off for 25+ years now. It has become an integral part of my live over the past few years. I couldn't imagine not keeping at least one aquarium at home.

its both :headbang2

without doubt, its a lifestyle. If it is just a hobby, then you don't have any idea what you are doing. when you know what you're doing, and love it like almost every MFK does, you can't seperate yourself from it. I'm only 13 years old, and people at my school call me "fish man" more than they do Daniel. I like it. Not only do I live for fish, but people recognize that about me. (that and they don't realize that I dont take it as an insult when they call me that)
