I know it, again sometime last year I did a crap load of research on this species, the only Google involved was to find the location, video link, and spell check.

You are absolutley correct by what you said and yes I ment to say big bend slider:D Beautifull turts however endangered because of acidental introducion of red ear sliders. Despite the fact that they are diferent species these species breed freely bethuween them and the hibrid offspring are completly fertile wich obviously is very dangerous for the big bends. Fortunatley there are a few captive breeding colonies of pure big bends in wich one day may relly the survival of all the species. They are quite beatifull turts and one of the few sliders in wich males dont have long claws in the front feet. They are kind of expensive in the US and almost unherd here but a real must have for the experienced slider fan:D Other very rare sliders are the Quatro cienagas slider (Trachemys taylori) and the antilean slider (Trachemys terrapen) both criticaly endangered by hibridization with the red ear slider, human consumption and habitat loss:(
