Chrysemys picta are a nice alternative to Sliders because they have similar looks but get half the size of adult RES.

i'm sorry, but i have to say this. to the OP, you say that res only range up to the mississippi river. well, i live in Ontario, and they are all over up here. just my 2 cents.

P.S. i have a baby res, but i honestly don't feel like posting in this thread. now, if there were a prize....:D

I think he's referring to their original native range of the RES. But yeah, there are feral populations of RES's on every continent except Antarctica.
 
Vicious_fish, is correct. I didn't say that those were the only places you can find them, I was just giving you a couple of exaples.

And your prize for replying will be, that you know that you helped someone that was looking for info. on this turtle and expaned the Fish of the week... and a new DVD player :eek:... Just kidding :D :j/k::ROFL:
