Definitely do not want a gulper haha, seen one at the Lfs and it just didn't please me. I guess it would be cool to feed it stuff but that about it.

Their not for everyone haha, I would love one but it's hard to tear down a 55 community tank for a fat lazy fish

I'm all for tearing down tanks and changing it up, it's just at the moment my apartment limits me to 55 gallons a tank and the channel cat is getting a little too big. I was going to move into a townhouse and get a 125 but I changed jobs and I had to find a new place to live. So for now this 55 is the largest i get.

I would love channel cats my LFS sells them, soooo tempting but biggest tank I have is 75... for now lol

How about on if the smaller serrasalmus piranha? Something like geryi would be awesome.

If this was an empty tank, what would you guys put in it. I just need ideas of what's possible.

There's probably a dozen suggestions in this thread so far. Best I can gather is it's a single wet-pet type fish you're after and it can't be a cichlid for whatever reason. That's going to limit things, as is the small water volume and footprint of a 55g.
