Fish Room and Indoor Pond 24' by 7' by 4'

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Next would be the setup for the shower base with the trays and media.
Should be finishing this soon. More pictures when it's done

Till then cheers.

The Shower head being setup.
Pic1. The initial setup testing slightly lower than the final config.
Pic2. Final Config with the pipe coming thru the window ledge.
The other end using the pond wall for support before setting up the shower base.

The two black plastic pallets used for the testing would be removed and the shower tray base
would go underneath the shower head. There would be two headers for the shower head.

Opps too busy setting up the Shower base to take photos of the
empty shower base.

This show the completed setup with the media, trays and top layer open core
sponges in place.

Pic1,2 and 3 Various views of the initial setup.

If you look carefully you will just able to see the two incoming shower head pipes.
At the moment still have not fully filled all the 3 levels with trays and media yet.

Final picture of the initial setup.
Will probably change that when the rest of the open core media sponge arrives.

Will also take further pictures of the shower heads when that happens.
At the moment the base and media will be left open. Probably will close the
end nearer the pond wall to prevent water splashing to the floor outside.

The noise is quite loud but not a nuisance as the entire pond is in in own enclosed room.

Few more hours and shuffling things around a bit.

Here's more or less the final layout for the media.
Top Layer - Black large open core foam.
Middle Layer - Bacteria Media in trays.
Lower Layer - Final Bacteria House Media.

This time a clearer view of the Two shower heads from the Top.
With Both Pumps Running the volume of water is estimated at 21,000 Litres per hour.
Pump One, the new one is rated at 12K Litres per hour at 1.5M height.
Pump Two the orginal Pump is rated at 8K Litres per hour at 1.5M height.
Pump Three now put on spare in the store. It's rated at 4K Litres per hour.

If you look at the T-Joints for the Shower heads there is a cut length wise along the Top of the T-Joint.
This allows the pvc pipe to just slide through and adjustments can be made for shower heads both length wise
and width wise.

That is you can adjust both along the left or right side of the picture and upwards
or downwards along the shower head line.

This was done to compensate for the errors due to my DIY sawing methods. not that accurate.
So there is some leeway when setting the showerhead up over the media.

Time to setup the Cover to reduce the splashing from the shower heads.
This would be more or less the final layout. Maybe? after few weeks to
see how it goes then if required more changes?

The cover is just simply a sheet of poly roofing material tied to the frame
with nylon string. This would allow the cover to be lifted up to service the
media should any cleaning be required.

According to the lnfo from the net this should not be required. but???

Pic.2 shows the two shower head attachment to the pond wall as
well at the shower base attachment.

Pic.3 This looks likely to be the layout for the next few weeks. Any change
will post later.
