That's a good idea... I'll look into some groups in my area, thanks for the pointer.

14 is a good age to start the collection. I don't know if you have joined a cichlid club or not in your area, but there is a wealth of knowledge in those groups. Usually you'll find some breeders who are not in it for the money and will be more than happy to set young people up in the hobby. I'm sure you would be able to find someone to give you breeding pairs, tanks, and supplies for free or very cheap. Thats how I got started, I joined the Greater Chicago Cichlid Association and was greeted with knowledge and supplies from very generous people. Hope this helps, good luck!

I would guppies in the 10, don't know why you want shrimp, but then again I don't know how quickly they will breed how much you will be able to sell them for. For the bigger tank (the 55) you can bred convicts very easily and make much more money. Convicts you can sell much more than guppies and just as easy! (and still raise guppies)

Is the demand for convicts coming back? Around here you can give them away for free and that's about it. I'm almost positive I'm doing guppies in the 55gal and see how it turns out. I'm going to buy them from lottsoffish off of aquabid.

I wasn't planning of selling the guppies wholesale, I was planning on doing online sales.

Okay, just checking. A lot of people overlook facts such as that, but you seem to be on top of this.

Let me know if you get the shrimp to breed; I'll order some of those and some guppies from you whenever you start doing sales.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I will defiantly keep everybody posted with my progress.

I mean I'm looking for one lol. If your selling to a lfs then it would be good, didn't know your selling online.... I know many ppl are looking for ebjds but obviously they are hard to bred. I think putting cichlids into a 55 would make more sense/money but you've done more research than I lol. Cause my thought process about guppies is... Who is buying them online?

There is more money in cichlids but the two things I lack is Money to fund the cichlids as well as experience in breeding. I will do that once i have a grow out tank as well as some money.

Guppies actually sell very well online, usually better than in stores. This is the guppies I'm bidding on

I won't be able to sell juvi's for the price he is selling them for but I should be able to get minimally $1.50 and on the high end $3 a piece for the juvi's for adults I should be able to get $3-$5 a piece. Remember these are a special line of guppies and not an average pet store guppy. Look around on aqua bid and see some of the prices these guppies are going for.
