Cement slab now poured - extra thick with commercial grade cement supposedly what is used to build skyscrapers lol

I am thinking about having 2 side by side racks of 8 by 4 by 2 foot tanks and was weighing the idea of 3 verses 2 stacked high -room will be 11 feet high.

Any thoughts on stacking 8 by 4 by 2 tanks?

I found that 18in between shelves was better for tank access. If you go three high you won't have room for the ceiling. My lowest tanks are around 12-14in off the floor.

A lot of best fit information to what you seek is going to depend on what type of fish keeper you are and how serious you want to take the hobby.

It looks like your pretty serious building a custom fish room but to what purpose?
If your after extreme - commercial grade advice, please Private Message me. I don't share photos online but happy to share photos and custom advice via email and/or one to one conversations. I have several hundred aquaria, spread over 3 fish rooms which get larger and better each time and I've owned multiple aquarium shops, a fish import/quarantine facility and managed commercial finfish aquaculture and hatcheries. Climate and water source considerations may differ but I won't take offence if my suggestions don't gel with your style of fish keeping.

Looks like your making good progress.

Coming along nice!

Depends on how high off the floor you want em?

2 racks of 4-6 / 480g’s on each side of the room ? 12 - 480g’s? vs 8 total? maybe FTD will get you a bulk discount?

you gonna do central filter? my electric here sadly $600 per month…. just got some solar - LMK if your interested…. looking into a well next ?

Project looks great!

I do not think I have room for 12 480s - I still have to fit the 900 gallon in there and still deciding if I’m keeping my 6 by 5 foot tanks. I’m still working through the possibility of a ray pond with a viewing window. Wish EZ ponds was local - (bullfrog Aquatics their distributor here really has no inventory and the prices are not comparable)

as for solar, we have been thinking about putting it in. I have a well which is huge when youdo not have to look at a water bill.

I would like a main filterbut do not want all the systems on one because of the risk of spreading infection if or when it were to occur.

Let me know if you ever get out to the peninsula over here and stop by.
