Good stocking but I suggest you grow them out a bit in a smaller maybe a 4ft tank ( if you have any) cause that may be a good final stock when the fish are mature, but when you have them initially in such a large tank they may get stressed and the tank also will look very empty. If you are plan on adding them directly then consider to give them some cover as in fake plants and some caves, keep the lights dim...puSkar.. Thanks. Anyways, finally I decided to do away with the severums completely for fear of overcrowding the tank. Now the final stocking would be

Might not be a problem with the cichlids once they know you, but the aro might be skittish the first few months.I’m from Pune, India.
Also, I wouldn’t mind having the tank look empty for the first few years. I’ll also probably have a semi-planted setup.
But do you think the fish stressing out could be a huge problem? I personally have never heard of this. I mean, I’ve comfortably kept just three young fish in a 300 gallon tank. I think the ’overtly-large’ enclosure problem only applies to reptiles, and snakes in particular.
Yeah, custom made… kinda compelled to. Purchasing a 500 gallon aquarium in my area is hard enough. Tanks rarely exceed the 300-350 gallon mark around shops where I live.Nice size aquarium! Was it custom made?
BTW can we see some pics of your current tanks?Yeah, custom made… kinda compelled to. Purchasing a 500 gallon aquarium in my area is hard enough. Tanks rarely exceed the 300-350 gallon mark around shops where I live.

Will be fine but the only problem will be feeding it. If you can manage target feeding it won't be a problem ?Sorry, but one last question before I go. Could I put a single fire eel INSTEAD of the severums? (sorry again, this thread has already dragged out more than I‘d expected)
