Speaking of dumb people, my sister and I were at Walmart tonight and looking at the fish, I made the comment that Pacu's get way too big for the home aquarium, and a customer looked at me and said, "They only get as big as the tank", I said oh, I don't think so and she gave me this really stupid look. You know I could of went on for days about how Walmart sells fish that they have no business of selling. And get this, the tag on the pacu tank said they grow to only 10". I looked at that and laughed. I told my sister how bad I wanted to go off on that lady but I didn't want to make a big scene so we just left. Just reminds me of how "STUPID" people really are when it comes to fishkeeping.

We have a petsmart here with an adoption tank. I got my 16" clown knife from there.
I dont think they're supposed to have it though.

also, milkman.....either you didnt have enough filtration or your tank wasnt cycled if you had ammonia present.

i work for petsmart, and we don't take in new fish. well atleast my store doesn't and i know another store in the district doesn't either. we are new (6 months old) but maybe the original stores do. i don't understand why we don't have an "adoption tank" we adopt out dogs and cats but i guess it is because we would just end up with RTCs, TSNs, pacu, gars, and huge oscars and not enough space

You would end up with the fish that petsmart (or any other LFS) shouldnt be selling in the first place

All of the other ones around here dont have the adoption tank, just one of them.
It just happens that it is one of the best ones around here lol.

No Petsmart around here have an apoption tank. I did not know any of them did
